"Blizzardpelt?" Rainshadow's voice echoed in Blizzardpelt's head.
"He's going to be fine, Rainshadow. He just hit his head," came Jayfeather's reassuring voice.
Blizzardpelt blinked. "Where am I?"
"You're in the medicine den. You hit your head pretty hard when that badger trampled you," Jayfeather said.
"Oh. What badger?"
"After you passed out, a badger trampled you and you hit your head pretty hard."
"What happened after that?"
"Well, nobody died, but Dustpelt has a broken leg."
"Oh. What about me?"
"Luckily there's nothing broken - thank StarClan - but like I said you did hit your head pretty hard, so you're probably going to have to spend the night here until you recover."
"Will he be okay?" Rainshadow asked.
"What did I JUST say?" asked Jayfeather.
"He'll be okay."
"So what do you think the answer is?"
"I think he'll be fine. Why do you think that, Jayfeather? I'm going to get some fresh-kill. Sheesh! Some cats can be so inacurate!"
Jayfeather laughed. "Warriors these days," he shook his head and focused again. "I'm going to go check on Dustpelt. If anything happens, just call me," Jayfeather padded off.
Blizzardpelt looked over at the warriors in the warriors den and sighed. He could have been over there joking about the badgers if he hadn't fought the leader all by himself.
"Mousebrain," Blizzardpelt snorted.
Blizzardpelt was just curling up for a nap when Firestar walked in.
"Blizzardpelt?" he asked.
Blizzardpelt looked over his shoulder. "Yes, Firestar?"
"You feeling better?"
"Yeah, I'm fine. I just hit my head pretty hard."
"Good. ThunderClan needs more young warriors like you and Rainshadow."
"What are you talking about? We probably have more warriors than any other clan!"
"Yeah but with more badgers in the forest, ShadowClan's growing stronger...ShadowClan."
"What?"
"They want to drive us out of the forest."
"What makes you think that?"
"Blackstar sent those badgers to get rid of us."
"Well, we kicked their tails!"
"Blizzardpelt, not right now. The point is, Blackstar won't stop until ThunderClan is gone."
"Wait, how do you know this?"
"I admit it, I did a little spying."
"You mean you snuck into the ShadowClan camp and spied on them? Sweet!"
"Blizzardpelt, focus. The point is, we can't beat ShadowClan alone. We have to unite with another clan - WindClan."
"WindClan? Why them?"
"They're our closest allies right now."
"They're not close at all!"
"I know! But RiverClan - that's it! RiverClan! Now that Mistyfoot is leader, she'll want to help us. Her mother was Bluestar, for StarClan's sake! She's half ThunderClan! Come on Blizzardpelt, we're taking a little trip."
"But Jayfeather told me - " Blizzardpelt was interupted by a yowl. They looked out and saw Brambleclaw fly across the clearing.
Firestar ran out to his deputy. "Brambleclaw! Speak to me!"
"Blackstar...wants...to see you," blood trickled from Brambleclaw's mouth and his eyes rolled to the back of his head. "Someone get him to the medicine den right away!"
Firestar turned around and saw Blackstar at the entrance to the camp. "Hello, Blackstar."
