(i have no clue what to call this fanfic, so...suggestions?)
Hollyleaf turned and ran from the medicine den. My life is ruined! she thought. I have nothing to live for anymore. She ran away, aware of the Gathering patrol returning behind her. Hollyleaf felt the warm gaze of staring eyes on her pelt, but she kept running.
Bracken and brambles tore at her pelt, but nothing hurt her more then what she already knew. Lionblaze yowled to her “Hollyleaf, come back! We need to talk!”, but she barely heard it. I need to get away! As far away as I can. She headed toward the underground tunnels, the ones that connected WindClan and ThunderClan territory. The way the invasion started.
She was almost there. Any heartbeat now and she would be racing through the underground. I’m going to make it! Then paws thundered on the short, springy grass and her brothers, Lionblaze and Jayfeather, leapt in front of her, blocking Hollyleaf from her escape route. Jayfeather spoke calmly to her, although Hollyleaf picked up slight fear glinting in his eyes as he said “Hollyleaf, you’ve got to listen to us,” They don’t understand. It’s time I told them before any more lies break out. “I’m sorry. I was only trying to do what’s best. I couldn’t let Ashfur live! You understand that, don’t you?”
Their eyes flashed with shock, fear, and sorrow as Lionblaze choked out “You killed Ashfur?”
She didn’t reply. She didn’t need to. Hollyleaf felt her brother stalking in her memory, and he would probably tell Lionblaze the story.
Instead, she said “He should have been swept into the lake and never seen again. But they found him, and now everything’s ruined. I can’t stay here,”
Hollyleaf inhaled deeply. “I know I did the right thing, but no cat will ever understand,” Not even my own brothers. she thought with sorrow. I must go now. Hollyleaf then turned and started running into the tunnels, heading for the one that lead to WindClan. There were plenty of places to hide on the moor.
Suddenly, a deafening rumble interrupted her thoughts and emotions. Hollyleaf gasped with terror as mud, rock, and water rained down from the top of the tunnel as it started collapsing. I’ve got to run! She ran towards one of the tunnels, one that Lionblaze hadn’t been through.
But then it started collapsing too. Am I going to die? Rocks crumbled onto her black pelt, and she could feel blood flowing down onto the muddy floor.
“Over here!” a voice hissed. Hollyleaf spun around to see a muddy cat, so muddy that she couldn’t see the color of his pelt.
“This way!” He flicked his tail towards a tunnel, one that was dry and still intact. Without thinking, she raced towards the tunnel, just as the last bit of rock and wet soil rained down. I’ll be safe here.
Panting with exhaustion, she looked up at the cat that saved her. To her surprise, Hollyleaf could see the ground through his body, but this cat didn’t have the starry pelt of a StarClan warrior. Is he evil? Did he spare my life just to take it away again?
Hollyleaf managed to choke out. “Thank you for saving me! Who are you?”
The stranger looked at her, his eyes brimming with loneliness and sorrow. “I am Fallen Leaves.”
