I remember a while back that it was confirmed Firestar would be dying within the series, which, if nothing horrible happens, would make Brambleclaw Leader. Who do you think would be his deputy? Graystripe would seem like a logical choice, though he is quite old (and will be even older by the time Firestar dies). I was thinking Thornclaw or Brackenfur. Thoughts?

Though I'm not sure if it would be the "best" choice, Lionblaze does make sense as a deputy.
Either that or Dovepaw, when she becomes a warrior.
It has to be one of the main characters.

Brightstar! who cares that she didn't have an apprentice? brambleclaw didn't have one, and he became deputy. and starclan might send a sign or something on who the new deputy will be. i hope it isn't cloudtail. he don't believe in starclan or the warrior code. |

I think Brackenfur. Thornclaw's too aggressive, Graystripe and Dustpelt are old enough to retire, and I can't really see any other cats being able to lead the Clan.

all of them may be able to lead the clan. here are the only exceptions:
Brightheart: never officially had apprentice. thats minor though.
Cinderheart: possibly too young. then again, that is also minor. firestar wasn't that old when he became leader.
Squirrelflight: too hyper. too secretive (ahem), and may use her nine lives for unnessessary reasons.
Mousewhisker: wasn't a name really mentioned in the books. we don't really know his personality, and that may cause trouble.

Whitewing should definitely be deputy. Not that she's even one of my top ten favorites, but I just think that she would make a really good leader. She's old enough, as she's already had at least nine moons as a warrior - three while she was pregnant, and six when Dovepaw and Ivypaw were kits. She's already had Icecloud as her first apprentice. She was mentioned enough in the books, enough for us to know her personality well enough.
Cinderheart would also make a good deputy.

Rainsong: Hollystar!!! She would be my first pick except we don't know if she'll be in ThunderClan in time to become deputy. And I really don't see Lionblaze as a good leader.
Hawkfeather: Brackenfur would be a good leader, and it would be smart for the Erins to pick him, since he's a very popular choice.
Many people would say that Cloudtail is a bad idea, because he doesn't believe in StarClan, but I can see him as a good enough leader - at least, better than Firestar. However, I'm not sure if he would be able to recieve his nine lives from something he doesn't believe in.
Lastly, Sorreltail wouldn't be allowed to become leaders. Female leaders aren't allowed to have mates, and Sorreltail's already a grandmother.

Brownpaw: Whitewing shouldn't become deputy or i should say will not because Bramblestar will probably pick a stronger cat to be deputy. Also, female leaders can have mates. Leafstar does.
Hawkfeather: Brackenfur and Sorreltail are already Grandpa and Grandma.
Cloudtail,no I don't want another Cloudstar!
